about me

a dithered avatar image of David

I've been using the immodest username "theDavidBarton" [1] [2] around the web, and I worked as a QA engineer (Test Automation & Manual Testing) and release manager at French metasearch liligo.com (eDreams ODIGEO), where I used JavaScript (ES6), Node.Js, Google's Puppeteer and Microsoft's Playwright to automate headless Chrome; and GitLab CI, Kubernetes and Jenkins for deployment and release management.

In my spare time, I enjoy working on hobby JavaScript/Node.Js and Python projects to maintain my full-stack dev skills.

[1] My French colleagues used to call me time to time: "the David" or "le David" due to French linguistic specialties. Not a big deal, in reality, I am a really meek person.

[2] Have you wondering what does "D9n" mean? It is a numeronym of "DavidBarton" and I use it as my Twitter username.

Retro gaming

I enjoy reading books (J.R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, Arthur C. Clarke, Stephen King), playing the guitar, going hiking, or - in case of depressing weather - playing retro video games on my Lakka Linux distro.

projects i am proud of

The following projects are not related to my professional work, I do them in my free time to improve my web dev skills. All of them are available on GitHub.

The demo pages with Node.Js are running on free Render instances since 2022 hence they take 30-60 seconds to fully load.
